SERIOUS CRASH

Update:

On Sunday January 16, 2022, Gracelyn Perkowski died of her injuries sustained in the crash from January 13.

This is an ongoing investigation and the State Police is asking anyone with information regarding this crash to call (631) 756-3300.

 

On Thursday, January 13, 2021, at approximately 11:40 am, the Southampton Town Police received a call for a collision on Flanders Road in the town of Southampton, Suffolk County.  The State Police and the Southampton Town Police responded to the scene. 

The drivers of each vehicle and one passenger were all transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center.

The collision occurred between a 2005 Toyota Rav 4 and 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan.  The driver of the Rav 4 was Amy Wesolowski, 34 of Riverhead, NY carrying passenger Gracelyn Perkowski, 4 years-old of Riverhead, NY.  The driver of the Tiguan is 29 years-old of Water Mill, NY.

Both drivers were taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment and have been released.The 4 year old passenger was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center and then airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital in critical condition.

Amy Wesolowski has been arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, an A-Misdemeanor, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, an A-Misdemeanor and Aggravated DWI with Child, an E-Felony and is being held for morning arraignment.

The collision is still under investigation and the State Police is asking for anyone with any information to call (631) 756-3300.
