UPDATE FROM POLICE

Amagansett, NY- East Hampton Town Police detectives have arrested a West Babylon man for leaving the scene of an incident after striking and killing a 36 year old mother pushing her children in a stroller.

Mark A. Corrado Jr. of West Babylon, W 11704 was traveling east on Rt. 27 in a 1997 Dodge pickup when he struck 36 year old Yuris Murillo Cruz of Amagansett who was pushing her two children, ages one and four year in a stroller on the east bound shoulder. Corrado did not stop and continued east before abandoning the vehicle in a wooded area on Gilberts Path in Amagansett and fleeing the area. The vehicle was subsequently located by police during an area canvass.

Corrado surrendered himself to East Hampton Detectives at the Suffolk County Police First Precinct in West Babylon on Wednesday afternoon. He was subsequently charged with Leaving the Scene of an Incident Without Reporting, a class D felony.
