Patchogue, NY – Suffolk County Police last night arrested a man for criminal possession of a weapon after the motor vehicle he was driving crashed into a building in Patchogue.
Kariem Harrell was driving a 2008 Infiniti G35 when the vehicle crashed and overturned into Robo Automatic Car Wash, located at 601 Montauk Highway, at approximately 6 p.m. Harrell and two passengers in the Infiniti were transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Following an investigation by Fifth Squad detectives, it was determined Harrell was in possession of a loaded handgun. Harrell, 18, of 1112 Lake Drive, Medford, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree. He will be held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on August 8.
