Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred in Mt. Sinai last night, October 30.
Police responded to a residence on Brian Lane after a 911 call reported a person shot at 6:30 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene they found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives believe the wound was a result of an accidental discharge of a rifle. The investigation is continuing.
