At 4:36am Suffolk Police and Bellport FD were called to 1640 Montauk Hwy, The Bellport Deli, after an SUV slammed through the wall of the deli, coming to rest inside.
The vehicle appears to have been heading west on Montauk Hwy at a high rate of speed when it lost control and struck the building.
The driver was trapped inside the vehicle while the vehicle was still inside the building and was removed by EMS. The adult male driver was transported to Long Island Community Hospital for treatment.
The vehicle was pulled from the building by firefighters and the Town of Brookhaven Building Inspector was called to the scene to check on the structural damage.
