At around 7:40pm Suffolk Police and EMS were called to Michigan Ave just north of Patchogue Ave after a reported shooting with a male shot.
Upon arrival it was determined the victim was taken to Long Island Community Hospital via private vehicle. The man was suffering from a gun shot wound to the groin. According to neighbors there was a party in the area when the shooting happened. Police marked shell casings in the middle of the street with traffic cones.
Suffolk Police 5th squad detectives and crime scene section were called to the scene for an investigation.
