Suffolk County Police today arrested a convenience store employee for killing a man who shoplifted from a Melville store.
Raquan Jackson stole merchandise from 7-Eleven, located at 24-28 Broadhollow Road, at approximately 12:30 a.m. A store employee, Conroy Jarman, chased the man from the store to a nearby parking lot, located at 1117 Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station, where a confrontation ensued and Jarman stabbed Jackson in the chest with a box cutter.
Jackson, 31, of Melville, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
Jarman, 29, of Hempstead, was charged with Manslaughter 2nd Degree.
