On August 12, 2021, at approximately 10:12 p.m., Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Deputies pulled a driver over for speeding through traffic circle and failing to maintain a lane of travel in Riverhead, NY. Daniela Pintado, 21, of Riverhead, NY, was interviewed and showed signs of intoxication. She was aggressive and volatile, and attempted to walk away when the Deputy attempted to administer a field sobriety test.

Pintado then physically assaulted the Deputy when he attempted to place her in handcuffs. Pintado punched the Deputy in the face, bit his index finger, flailed her arms, and kicked the Deputy during the altercation. As a result, the Deputy sustained injuries to his face and right index finger which required him to receive medical treatment at the hospital. Pintado was transported to the hospital where the medical examiner drew her blood. She was treated and released.

Daniela Pintado was arrested and charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Driving While Intoxicated.
