At around 3am the Farmingville Fire Department was alerted to a Recreational Vehicle on fire in the parking lot of the Park and Ride on North Ocean Ave just north of the Long Island Expressway.
The RV was reportedly being used for months as a residence for at least one person. There were propane tanks mounted to the front of the vehicle but, luckily, were not affected by the fire.
The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes by firefighters with no reported injuries. Although one person was being checked out by EMS at the scene.
The fire is under investigation by the Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshal’s office.
