East Northport, NY- Friday afternoon at around 3:30pm Suffolk Police and EMS were called to the intersection of Larkfield Rd. and Efron Ave. after a crash involving a US Mail vehicle and a pick up truck.
It appears the driver of the mail truck was ejected from the vehicle and reported to be laying in the roadway. After the crash the pick up truck left the road and crashed into a pole on the west side of Larkfield Rd.
The mail carrier was rushed to Southside Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, but was reportedly conscious upon arrival.
Police shut down the roadway while doctors determined the severity of the drivers injuries. There is no word on what caused the crash at this time or if any criminality is involved.
