Just before 3am the North Amityville FD was called to 600 Route 110, the Gildersleeve Park Mobile Home Complex, after getting calls for a fire in a trailer home with a person still inside.
The fire chief, who arrived within minutes, was able to enter the trailer home and remove one occupant. Firefighters were on scene quickly as the location is directly across from fire headquarters. One person was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries. The fire was brought under control in about 45 minutes.
The Town of Babylon Fire Marshal was requested to determine the cause of the fire.
