Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist in East Farmingdale today.
A woman was driving a 2006 Honda Pilot westbound on Conklin Street and attempted to make a left-hand turn into St. Charles/Resurrection Cemeteries, when the vehicle was struck by a 2001 Honda motorcycle that was attempting to pass her on the left side. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, 23, of Wyandanch, was taken via ambulance to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow in serious condition. The Honda Pilot driver, 60, of Centereach, was taken via ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
