Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Holtsville last night.
A man was driving a 2021 Volkswagen Atlas eastbound on Fairview Avenue, attempting to make a left turn onto County Road 83, when his vehicle was struck by a 2021 Ducati motorcycle traveling southbound on County Road 83 at approximately 11:25 p.m.
The operator of the motorcycle, 28, of Mount Sinai, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
