Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the shooting death of a woman and attempted suicide of a man that occurred in Deer Park last night.
First Precinct officers responded to a 911 call reporting a man and woman with gunshot wounds inside a residence on Eastwood Avenue at approximately 8:50 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a husband and wife with gunshot wounds. Their two daughters, ages 12 and 6, were inside a vehicle in the driveway of the residence at the time of the shooting, and were unharmed.
Following an investigation, Homicide detectives determined that Paul Bonny had shot his wife, and then himself.
The woman, 35, was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. Paul Bonny, 34, of the same address, was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. The daughters were released to the custody of a family member at the scene.
