At around 11:15am this morning the Brentwood Fire Department was called to 84 St. Peters Dr. after multiple calls for a house on fire.
Upon arrival units were met with fire already out the windows and through the roof of a large 2 story home. There were reports of explosions and multiple propane tanks were located at the home.
Multiple area departments were called to the scene to assist. The roof of the home collapsed into the house forcing firefighters to an exterior operation until the structure stabilized enough for them to re-enter. It took nearly 2 hours to bring the fire under control. Luckily it appears there were no injuries.
The Town of Islip Fire Marshal and Suffolk Arson Squad were called to the scene for an investigation into the cause of the fire.
