At around 3am the Centereach Fire Department was called to a house on Robert Dr., at the corner of Holbrook Rd., after getting a call of a reported house fire.
Upon arrival units were met with heavy fire which appears to have started in the chimney area. Fire quickly spread to the attic and through the roof of the house. Multiple mutual aid departments were called to the scene to assist.
Luckily the occupants of the house were able to escape without injury.
The fire was brought under control in about 1 hour. The Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
