Today frontline healthcare workers at Nassau University Medical Center were the first in the county to get the COVID-19 vaccine.  ER Nurse Gabrielle Desiree from Baldwin was the first to receive the vaccine.

A batch of 797 Pfizer vaccines arrived at the County’s only public safety net hospital which sees some of the most vulnerable residents in Nassau County. Critical Care nurses and doctors will be the first to receive followed by Respiratory Therapists, housekeeping and pharmacy staff.

Next week, the hospital will be receiving 2,000 vaccines from Moderna.
