Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in East Patchogue tonight.
Mely Josue Galeas-Roque was crossing Route 112, north of Shaber Road, when he was struck by a northbound 2021 Dodge Ram pickup truck at approximately 5:30 p.m.
Galeas-Roque, 32, of Patchogue, was transported to by ambulance to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the pickup truck, 37, of Patchogue, was not injured.
The Dodge was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-855.
