Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad and Arson Section detectives are investigating a house fire that killed a woman in West Babylon last night.
First Precinct officers responded to 225 Van Buren Street at approximately 9 p.m. after reports of a house fire. After firefighters extinguished the fire, the body of an 82-year-old woman, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was found deceased.
A preliminary investigation has determined the cause of the fire to be non-criminal in nature.
