Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Coram last night.
A man was driving a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe northbound on North Bicycle Path, near South Street, when his vehicle struck a woman while she was walking east across the street at 7:35 p.m.
The pedestrian, 66, of Selden, was transported via Selden Fire Department Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver, 67, of Coram, was not injured.
The Santa Fe was impounded for a safety check.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8252.
