At around 8:45pm Suffolk County Police and the Ronkonkoma Fire Department were called to a house on Holly Road in Holbrook after a car slammed into a house but the driver took off on foot from the scene.
As police searched for the driver, EMS units checked out 2 people, an adult and a child, that were in the home at the time of the crash. It appears their injuries are minor and they refused transport to the hospital.
The vehicle did substantial damage to the front wall of the house causing it to buckle at the base.
Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshal and Building Department were requested to the scene to check on the structural stability of the home.
No word on why the driver fled the scene at this time.
