Melville, NY- Luckily only minor injuries last night after a vehicle lost control, left the roadway and flipped over the guardrail just after 11pm.
The crash happened in the east bound lanes of the Long Island Expressway near the exit 50 ramp. The driver was able to climb out of the vehicle and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
While operating on scene a second accident was reported after another driver struck a vehicle that stopped to assist in the original crash. That accident appears to have had no injuries.
All but the HOV lane was closed while police and fire units worked at the scene.
