Early this evening Suffolk Police and EMS were called to a home on Norfleet Lane after a man was reportedly assaulted by an armed attacker. The victim was rushed to LI Community Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Suffolk Police surrounded the neighborhood in an attempt to detain the reportedly armed male. A police helicopter hovered over the Gordon Heights community for about an hour as multiple K9 dogs tracked through yards from the incident location.
No arrests have been made as of yet and no word on a motive for the attack.
