Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Patchogue early this morning.

This marks the 3rd pedestrian struck and killed by hit and run drivers in Suffolk County this month.  The first was in East Patchogue on Sunrise Highway, another in Copiague on Sunrise Higway and now this victim on North Ocean Avenue.

The male pedestrian was walking on North Ocean Avenue, just south of Roe Boulevard, when he was struck by a motor vehicle that fled the scene at approximately 3:55 a.m. The victim, 32 of Patchogue, was pronounced dead at the scene.
