At around 6:40pm the Huntington Manor Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire at 2 Sweet Hollow Road in Huntington.

Upon arrival, firefighters were met with heavy fire conditions in the basement and first floor of the home. Multiple surrounding departments assisted in the fire.

Huntington Community First Aid Squad was also on scene and treated two injured firefighters. Their injuries were not serious.

Eastbound lanes of West Jericho Turnpike were closed at Sweet Hollow Road during the operation.  The fire was brought under control in forty-five minutes.  

Town of Huntington Fire Marshals and the Suffolk County Arson Squad are investigating the cause of the fire.
